Hello all,

This email is to introduce ourselves: The LS14 Trust as the community partner who will be coordinating the community response to Covid-19 across the Seacroft and Killingbeck ward.

Myself, Howard Bradley and my colleagues in the LS14 Trust team will be leading on this. We are working in partnership with Leeds City Council and Voluntary Action Leeds on this project: https://doinggoodleeds.org.uk/covid-19-care-volunteering.html

We are leading on Tier 2 in this ward: "The delivery of local volunteer activity within the boundary of each city ward, including deployment of volunteers to meet local requests for assistance" (enabling volunteers to safely carrying out essential tasks for vulnerable people in our community).

Leeds City Council have set up a new contact centre to take calls and enquiries from individuals, groups and organisations who either need access to help and support or can offer to help and support.

These calls will be taken by one main number but then be triaged according to need to ensure that people get help locally or offer help locally: 0113 37 81877 (please share this number or website with anyone vulnerable/isolated that may need help).

To sign up to Leeds Council updates follow this link. and please help share the word to encourage healthy folk to sign up to help out across the city.

If you have any specific needs or offers at the moment, please get in touch and we can try to link up support with need, there are likely to be some social media groups set up shortly to facilitate ward-level connectivity and information transfer.

This is uncharted territory and there is a lot we don't know, but hopefully by working together we will be able to support one another effectively.

Thanks,

Due to government guidelines, the LS14 Trust building will be closed from today, Tuesday 17 March.
However the LS14 Trust has always been about people not just buildings and we will continue to work over the coming weeks alongside this brilliant community to make sure we support those who need it. Thanks for your suggestions so far for ways in which we can support going forward and please get in touch with ideas and suggestions.
We will let you know our plans soon.
Many thanks
LS14 Trust Team.
